About this Course

This workshop is for writers and other presenters who would like to learn how to more effectively present their work to the public. Using individual and group dramatic techniques, vocal and breath work, you will be encouraged to build stage awareness and confidence. You will explore creative ways to access flexibility in voice, body and mind, learn how to identify performance fears or anxiety, and find new ways to approach and work with these in a safe and fun environment. Friday, April 19, 5-8 PM: Exploration, build awareness and skills, work on bringing writing to life. Saturday, April 20, 5-8 PM: Build confidence in reading and performing work. Continued skill development with voice, movement. Sunday, April 21, 1:30-4:30 PM, 6-10 PM: Warm up and rehearsal for public performance. Public performance and feedback session. Local residents (including residents of Tofino, Ucluelet, and surrounding First Nations communities), will be given early registration priority until March 24, 2024, at 11:59 PM.
